Amara Minott
MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR, IN-TRAINING / REV COORDINATOR
Being seen, truly seen, can change everything. As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in training, I bring both clinical skills and lived experience as a Black woman of Caribbean descent. Growing up in Brooklyn, I witnessed firsthand the gaps in mental health care and the strength within diverse communities, which shaped my passion for supporting underserved populations. I value empathy, active listening, and culturally responsive care, recognizing that healing is not one-size-fits-all. In my work as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student, I support clients navigating identity, systemic challenges, and generational trauma.
I believe therapy is not only about addressing symptoms but also about being seen, understood, and supported in a way that honors your full story. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build insight, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change. I utilize AEDP, CBT, and a relational approach. Therapy doesn't have to feel cold, clinical, or performative. I aim to create a space where you can show up fully-no code-switching, no judgment, and no pressure to "have it all together."
Through Mind The Healing, I support young adults navigating anxiety, burnout, identity, relationships, and life transitions with empathy, authenticity, and care.
